How would you go about fasting and praying to achieve the faith referred to in [Matt. 17:20,21].

Fasting enpowers your spirit by a very simple reason. weakining the flesh. When we fast, our faith rises and the holy spirit will get power from this. for it is not we who perform miracles but god in us. Greater is he that is within us then he that is in this world.

Whenever I fast, I try to focus all my thoughts on the lord. When I am hungry it seems to be the only thought on my mind, no matter what is going on. So when I get that hunger for food, I imediately read my bible to fulfill the hunger. It is the meat of our soul. Same thing for drinking anything, Jesus gave us living water, so that we may never thirst again. [john 4:14] The hunger then reminds you of God everytime it comes upon you. It is a humbling experience that helps you realize the grace that has been given to you. To know that everything you have was given to you by God. And to think of the people that have to deal with that every day of their lives. It will barely begin to reveal to you the goodness of God. The growth in your understanding of God's love and power will help you gain that faith to move a mountain.
