This verse corresponds very closely to I Corinthians 10:31 where Paul writes that "whatever you do, do all unto the glory of God." This verse is saying that every thing we say to one another, and everything we do should be representative of the faith that lies within us. How do we carry out business. What kind of person are we when no one is looking. Do we gossip or do we build others up. We are to be living examples of Jesus Christ to the world. The verses prior to this speak of internalizing the Word of God and to edify other believers as we are edified by them so that it won't be hard to live the life.
