Verse Questions: Genesis 1:14 |
I have a question about this verse. Does anyone think that those who are into Astrology use this verse to give merit to their pratices? People like Cleo (the lady on TV) may use this in order to get Christians to call. | |

Verse 14 says specifically that these lights will be signs for seasons and days and years. There is nothing wrong with this statement. It has nothing to do with astrology. What God is saying is that man will be able to mark time according to the light in the heavens. For years the stars were the only means of navigation on the seas. We know that the Jewish calendar is different than ours because it goes according to the seasons. The sin in looking to the lights in the sky is when we seek to know the future by their alignments. This practice is prohibited in Scripture. An astrologer who would use this verse would be way off base. |
