|I recently came away from a short Bible study on this parable and came away with some views. Since this passage is all about worldly views and money. Basically everything we value?
I saw this as being true, which is why this verse was put right into the middle all by itself. I have learned from a Song of Solomon study that the wife is supposed to be the one and only in a husband's life. She is to be revered beyond all others. Also, this verse is specifically pointing at the man, not the woman.
I believe it to be a warning to men to not give up on their wives, no mater how much the world tries to pull them apart.
This is what I got out of this verse. If anyone else has any other views, please tell me.
