   Verse Questions:
        Revelation 13:18

[Rev13:18] I am having trouble understanding "threescore." I have known it to mean three, as in years, but do not understand how "Six hundred threescore and six" translates into 666.

For that Lincon example, you carried 2 instead of 1

1863...
1963 were the civil rights years with Rosa Parks...

One score is 20 years. Three score is then sixty. That's how it becomes six hundred sixty six.

To add to previous explanation. Indeed 'score' represents 20 years, much like 'ton' represents 2000 lbs. Lincoln delivered his Gettysburg Address in November, 1963 - It begins
""Fourscore and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal." If you do the math, 1963 - 87 years = 1776. Make more sense now?

score = 20
in Lincolns Gettysburg address, "Four score and seven years ago..." it meant 87 years ago
six hundred = 600
three score(3 x 20) = 60
six = 6
hope this helps
