   Verse Questions:
        Exodus 20:5

I'm just trying to find out more about what this verse is refering to. idols? It is quoted in the movie "Magnolia" and I was hoping to make the connection between the scene and the verse. Thanks.

First of all, I go into this area and see what questions I may be helpful in answering and in this case, I am using my Full Life study Bible to help you out here, so what I am about to write are the words out of this Holy Bible.- The prohibition against the worship of other gods required that no image be made of them, now could anyone make an image of the Lord God Himself. He is too great to be represented by anything made by human hands. God is so holy that any image of Him dishonors Him and detracts from His true nature and from what He has revealed about Himself. Idols are vain and useless things [1 Samuel 12:21]. However, behind all idols are demons, spiritual beings controlled by the devil. see [Deut 32:17] and [Psalms 106:36-37] and [1Cor 10:20]...
I hope this helps you to better understand...
